The Executive Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ogbomoso District paid a courtesy visit to the Hospital Management of Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, on Wednesday, 27th August, 2025. This visit was to formally introduce the District Executive Committee members, and explore areas of possible collaboration and growth with the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. S. A. Adegoke, warmly welcomed the Executive Committee of the Institute, and expressed his delight over their visit. He noted that, the hospital would look forward to explore areas of mutual interest and collaboration to improve professional development. Therefore, he urged the Committee to deliver with credibility while he prayed that God would continue to pilot the affairs of the Institute.
Sequel to the welcoming speech, the ICAN General Secretary, Ogbomoso District Executive Committee, Dr. S. A. Shittu, officially introduced the newly inaugurated Executive Committee members to the Hospital Management. Thereafter, the ICAN Chairman, Ogbomoso District, Dr. E.A. Alagbe thanked the BUTH Management for the warmth reception and described ICAN as a professional body for Chartered Accountants in Nigeria that plays a role in promoting accounting standard and professional development in Nigeria. He said that the courtesy visit was part of the efforts of the Institute to strengthen relationship with key institutions where their members are serving. He expressed his great joy knowing that some of the active members of the Institute are members of staff in BUTH. The Chairman emphasized on the plan of the Institute to extend a hand of collaboration to BUTH, especially in the areas of financial discipline, staff training and capacity building. He therefore, pleaded to the BUTH Management for more enabling environment for the Institute members and others with interest in joining the Institute.
Given the vote of thanks, the Director of Administration, Mr. S. O. Oladejo expressed profound appreciation to the ICAN team for their visit, and extension for collaborations. He assured them that, the hospital management would sustain the relationship and be opened to future engagements.
The visit ended with a closing prayer said by the Head of Nursing Services, Mrs. C. A. Alagbe and thereafter a group photograph was taken.
